Teaching Ethical Statement
As a dance educator, it is my purpose to raise capable, strong, and intelligent dancers, cultivate their minds, and to teach them to understand the technique, history, and the art of dance as it relates to their minds, their emotions, and their bodies. I teach a multifaceted, student-centered class focusing on a range of aspects that center around dance technique and how it can be utilized and accomplished by each and every dancer in relation to their individual bodies, physical growth, and hereditary anatomy. I focus on understanding my students and seek to utilize their life-goals to direct aspects of their dance education to understand how dance and dance training can be utilized in helping them to achieve their goals whether or not they seek to work as a professional dancer or in another professional field.
As my personal philosophy, I believe that education should always be a point of encouragement. It is always my goal and purpose to encourage my students to be their best, to know that their goals, whatever they may be, are absolutely attainable. I act as a guide, an educator, and a mentor to guide, to educate, and to help them understand the individual work, dedication, and focus necessary to achieve those goals.
